How long should a formula fed infant do between bowel movements?

How long should a formula fed infant do between bowel movements?

BM in formula fed: Infant. They may go from several times a day to once a week. It is very much a variable thing. The idea that an infant has to go everyday or they are not " normal" is just not true. Think about how different we all are as adults. As long as baby does not have a rock hard tender abdomen, no fever, is eating well, and not tearing its little bum when it goes it is okay. What goes in will come out. ...Read more

Is there a best time of day to feed an infant? Or is just important to establish a routine?

Is there a best time of day to feed an infant? Or is just important to establish a routine?

Timing: I encourage parents to feed their infants every 3-4 days during the day. Breastfeeding will have a different pattern at times as infants will cycle through high demand days. Don't fall for the "you're not satisfying him" remarks. I like routines if parent is trying to return to work soon. http://kidshealth.org/parent/growth/feeding/feednewborn.html# ...Read more
