Doubt any harm: A variety of items have been offered to qwell fussy babys since the 1700's, most implying some sort of stomach upset as the cause. A variety of gripe waters are available, some monitored by the fda and some not. Most appear to have harmless ingredients & in small amounts are probably fine. I have never recomended them. A mom can bring the item to the doctor to check the ingredients, but a little bit of a trusted brand of "gripe water" drops is ok to try. It may or may not help any colicky symptoms. If it doesn't seem to help, then it shouldn't be used. I don't recommend "gripe water" for my patients. ...Read more
