Eye care provider: An optician grinds lenses for glasses, an optometrist is a trained eye care provider that has not been trained to perform surgery, and an ophthalmologist has gone to medical school and residency and may have had subspecialty training (main distinction is surgical training).See 1 more doctor answer
Depends: There are multiple causes for tiredness and also for eye pain. If you are too tired to get out of bed, then get help and be seen in an emergency room. The eye pain is a problem if there are at the same time visual changes, redness, discharge or swelling. If this is happening see your ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
No.: Rheumatologist and regular ophthalmologist should be fine.See 1 more doctor answer
Go to a Pediatrician: A general Pediatrician would be the right choice for initial evaluation and either reassurance, treatment, or referral to another specialist if needed.See 1 more doctor answer
I have bad head aches that make my eyes hurt and my stomach upset. Is that normal.? Or do I need to see a doctor.?
Maybe migraine: Especially if this runs in your family, best to see your doctor, and get diagnosed and treated.
Not long: If painful, asap. If only red or itchy, 2-3 days.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends: Red eyes can come from superficial bleeding, allergy, infection, or inflammatory disease of the inside of the eye. Symptoms requiring evaluation by your ophthalmologist include pain, lowered vision, light sensitivity and pus seeping out from the lids. If none of these are present you probably have subconjunctival hemorrhage or viral infection and can wait several days for clearing.
Diagnosed with shingles. PCP did eye test with green dye and didn't see issue, but gave referral. Eye doc can't see me for 5 days. Too long to wait?
Yes: Eye pain - especially persisitent pain - is not normal. Occasional sharp pains lasting for only a few seconds may be caused by dry eyes. Most other causes of eye pain are more serious. The best way to know for sure what is causing the pain is to have an eye examination. See an eye doctor as soon as possible.See 1 more doctor answer
Hi doctors. I have problem waking up in the morning with pain in my right eye. I'm a heavy smoker and does it have anything to do with my eye pain.?
Yes, : Smoking can irritate the surface of the eyes and also cause the tear film to evaporate causing a state of dry eye. When the eyes dry out, the corneal surface can break down causing pain. So give up smoking, use artificial tears, and buy a humidifier and this may alleviate some of the pain. Better yet, make an appointment to see an eye md and they will help diagnose and treat your condition.
Eye pain: It is best to see an eyeMD as they have the microscopes needed to evaluate all parts of eye properly. If none available and pain is severe go to ER: most have an eye slit lamp microscope.
Havin eye pain(l.eye) acompanyd wit sever headache. Cheked wit eye doc. Doc said not d eye prblm. Then wat cud it be.. plz help.. so much pain?
?neuralgia: This may be a neuralgia problem involving the left supraorbital nerve. This usually resolves without any specific treatment except antinflammatories like ibuprofen,if you are able to take them. Since no eye problem was found, consult a neurologist if symptoms persist and he/she will order appropriate testing and treatment.
If you have no sensation in your cornea would it be impossible to have any eye pain? I was told this by my doctor.
Partially correct: If you have no corneal sensation, then a corneal problem may not cause pain. But there are other pain sensing nerves elsewhere in the eye.
