How long can I wait with eye pain to see if it goes away without seeing a doctor?

Depends: If the eyes are not red, and the vision is good, and there is no evidence of infection, and you have not overworn your contact lenses, you can wait a couple of days. If you have any of these symptoms you should see your eye doctor soon.

I've been feeling more tired and have some eye pain. When should I see the doctor?

Depends: There are multiple causes for tiredness and also for eye pain. If you are too tired to get out of bed, then get help and be seen in an emergency room. The eye pain is a problem if there are at the same time visual changes, redness, discharge or swelling. If this is happening see your ophthalmologist as soon as possible.

Go to a Pediatrician: A general Pediatrician would be the right choice for initial evaluation and either reassurance, treatment, or referral to another specialist if needed.

How long can I wait with red eyes to see if it goes away without seeing a doctor?

How long can I wait with red eyes to see if it goes away without seeing a doctor?

Depends: Red eyes can come from superficial bleeding, allergy, infection, or inflammatory disease of the inside of the eye. Symptoms requiring evaluation by your ophthalmologist include pain, lowered vision, light sensitivity and pus seeping out from the lids. If none of these are present you probably have subconjunctival hemorrhage or viral infection and can wait several days for clearing.

Is it worth a trip to the doctor for eye pain?

Is it worth a trip to the doctor for eye pain?

Yes: Eye pain - especially persisitent pain - is not normal. Occasional sharp pains lasting for only a few seconds may be caused by dry eyes. Most other causes of eye pain are more serious. The best way to know for sure what is causing the pain is to have an eye examination. See an eye doctor as soon as possible.

Hi doctors. I have problem waking up in the morning with pain in my right eye. I'm a heavy smoker and does it have anything to do with my eye pain.?

Hi doctors. I have problem waking up in the morning with pain in my right eye. I'm a heavy smoker and does it have anything to do with my eye pain.?

Yes, : Smoking can irritate the surface of the eyes and also cause the tear film to evaporate causing a state of dry eye. When the eyes dry out, the corneal surface can break down causing pain. So give up smoking, use artificial tears, and buy a humidifier and this may alleviate some of the pain. Better yet, make an appointment to see an eye md and they will help diagnose and treat your condition.

?neuralgia: This may be a neuralgia problem involving the left supraorbital nerve. This usually resolves without any specific treatment except antinflammatories like ibuprofen,if you are able to take them. Since no eye problem was found, consult a neurologist if symptoms persist and he/she will order appropriate testing and treatment.

Partially correct: If you have no corneal sensation, then a corneal problem may not cause pain. But there are other pain sensing nerves elsewhere in the eye.

Any doctor has experience treating digestive-related vertigo and eye pain?

And: How do you know those are connected? Ear balance mechanism, muscles or structures around the eye, and some sort of gastric problem? Those should be evaluated independently, good luck!
