How long after exposure to strep does it take your body to feel its symptoms?

How long after exposure to strep does it take your body to feel its symptoms?

Depends on You & exp: Group a strep is variable in its effect. During the year there are strep carriers around (5+/-%) who seem never to get sick but can pass it on.Asymptomatic carriage in winter is higher. If u are susceptable (we can't be sure who) then u probably become sick within 3 days. U have 9-10 days to rx & stop most bad effects on kids. Simple office tests can confirm a sore throat is really strep & not viral.

How long should I watch my 11 week old for symptoms after exposure to strep bacteria?

How long should I watch my 11 week old for symptoms after exposure to strep bacteria?

Depends on the disea: If your concern is strep b exposure around delivery the venerable period is past. We usually see issues arise in an early <1wk or late (2-4wk) pattern with this germ. Every day further from delivery without a problem means its rarely if ever seen. If you are concerned about strep a, that throat germ is not as quick or deadly & often produces only a cloudy nasal discharge at that age.

May be viral: If there is a single sore and you have no other symptoms (no headache, no stomach ache, no fever), the sore throat may well be a virus. Treatment for that is supportive. If you develop any of the above symptoms in addition, however, and do not have symptoms such as stuffy nose or cough, see your doctor to make sure you do not have strep.

Low HIV exposure 1m ago. Symptoms chronologically : persistent mild to high fever (10d)->swollen lymph gland->strep throat->dry cough. Can this be HIV?

Acute HIV: Your symptoms are nonspecific and could simply suggest a viral syndrome. However, these are also symptoms of acute HIV seroconversion, and if you had a risk exposure (not sure what you mean by "low") then you should definitely get tested.

My daughter was diagnosed with strep today. How long before we would see symptoms if anyone else in our family is getting it also?

Approx. 1-4 days: Throat infection with strep bacteria can cause a variety of symptoms such as soreness, raspy voice, difficulty swallowing, fevers, mucus production, etc. Due to its association with inflammation of the throat and its nearby structures. Symptoms usually begin within a few days (one to four days) after contracting the infection (incubation period). Good luck.
