How Long After Colonoscopy Does Diverticulitis Symptoms Come Back
Friend had ct scan diverticulitis, no symptoms feels great. Bowel thickening, possible sigmoid abscess. Could ct scan be wrong? Needs colonoscopy.
If a endoscopy and flexable colonoscopy come back clear what could this severe abdo pain be help please ?
Maybe something else: Lots of other organs in the abdomen and pelvis. Other tests that may help include:careful history and physical exam, labs, sono of abdomen/pelvis (safe, painless, no xray), small bowel evaluation with capsule study, ct or mr enterography. Sometimes can be from adhesions from old surgery or inflammation, sometimes internal hernias, sometimes referred pain from back. Keep looking. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
If colonoscopy results come back as normal but prep was fair, would it be logical to return for another colonoscopy? How soon afterwards?
Depends on: your age and any additional risk factors, such as family history of colon cancer and personal history of colitis. Ask your gi specialist for specific advice. If there are no other risk factors, your doctor would probably recommend repeat in 5 to 10 years. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Developed diverticulitis following colonoscopy. First time ever had it. Colon now messed up. Chance of diverticulitis happening again?
Close observation: One risk associated with an elective colonoscopy is a perforation. A plain xray of your abdomen when symptoms start after procedure can help diagnose. It would be difficult to tell the difference from diverticulitis. Recurrance risk will also depend on status of diverticular disease. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Had colonoscopy 2 yrs ago completely normal if i had diverticulitis now could they just do a sigmoidoscopy if its lower left side near ovary?
I have blood in stool. I've had 4 colonoscopy. Negative results. Had diverticulitis before. What could my problem be?
Maybe not colonic...: Evaluation is always appropriate for re-bleeding from the gut. Black stool often means bleeding from upper GI tract; grape jelly stool from small bowel; silver stool from biliary tree; burgundy stool from right colon; red blood from left colon to anal canal. Any accompanying symptoms? Do you take NSAID's, over-use alcohol, smoke tobacco, have other risks (AVM's for example)--lots to consider. ...Read more

Possibly: It depends some on your age and past history. Diverticulitis, an infection of the colon, can sometimes show a lot of thickening on ct scan. That can be hard to tell if the infection caused the swelling, or if a tumor is causing the thickening. It is common to recommend a colonoscopy several weeks after the diverticulitis had healed, if you have not already had one. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Will an ultrasound show diverticulitis or Crohn's? Had colonoscopy about a year ago and it results were clean. Having Mid-LLQ pain & dr ordered U/S.
No diagnostic test: is ever 100%. There are always false negatives and positives. In your case, your doctor was probably looking for kidney stones or infection or a problem with your ovary, not something in the colon. US has better sensitivity in kidney and ovarian problems than in colon problems. ...Read more
