If a endoscopy and flexable colonoscopy come back clear what could this severe abdo pain be help please ?

If a endoscopy and flexable colonoscopy come back clear what could this severe abdo pain be help please ?

Maybe something else: Lots of other organs in the abdomen and pelvis. Other tests that may help include:careful history and physical exam, labs, sono of abdomen/pelvis (safe, painless, no xray), small bowel evaluation with capsule study, ct or mr enterography. Sometimes can be from adhesions from old surgery or inflammation, sometimes internal hernias, sometimes referred pain from back. Keep looking. ...Read more

If colonoscopy results come back as normal but prep was fair, would it be logical to return for another colonoscopy? How soon afterwards?

If colonoscopy results come back as normal but prep was fair, would it be logical to return for another colonoscopy? How soon afterwards?

Depends on: your age and any additional risk factors, such as family history of colon cancer and personal history of colitis. Ask your gi specialist for specific advice. If there are no other risk factors, your doctor would probably recommend repeat in 5 to 10 years. ...Read more

If i recently had a full body pet scan and it detected diverticula, but nothing else, do I still need to do a colonoscopy?

Yes: Pet can detect cancer or inflammation but not benign polyps or tumor which is the main advantage of doing colonoscopy. When you do colonoscopy and there is a polyp and we remove it, this will prevent cancer. ...Read more

Rectal sweating for 1yr. Be ts confirms diverticula in sigmoid colon, colonoscopy shows no masses, blockages etc.Could it be a helminthic condition?

Rectal sweating for 1yr. Be ts confirms
diverticula in sigmoid colon, colonoscopy shows no masses, blockages etc.Could it be
a helminthic condition?

Do you mean mucous?: Anal discharge is most likely proctitis, seborrhea or anal fissure. Have you been cleared of std? Helminthic infections usually do not have rectal discharge. A stool test for ova and parasites and blood work could rule out a parasitic infestation. Colonoscopy may well have identified them as well. ...Read more

Recent colonoscopy could not be completed due to multiple diverticula with associated hypertrophy of Muscle, could this be cancerous?

Recent colonoscopy could not be completed due to multiple diverticula with associated hypertrophy of Muscle, could this be cancerous?

Yes but less likely: if you have extensive diverticulosis this can be a problem to advance the camera through certain areas. If you have had diverticulitis before you may develop narrowings in the colon. When the colonoscopy is incomplete it is not possible to completely rule out cancer, and therefore an image test is recommended (such as barium enema, virtual CT colonoscopy, etc) ...Read more

No diverticula found on colonoscopy. GI says could still be present on outside of colon and only seen on CT. May be source of LLQ pain. Is this right?

At age 33,: With no diverticula on your colonoscopy, I would look for another cause of persistent LLQ pain. It would be unusual to suffer from this condition at such a young age. And a colonoscopy should see signs of diverticula and diverticulitis in most cases. ...Read more

63 year-old woman still has continuous mild stomach pain affecting her daily life, despite 3 yrs of medical treatment for gastritis found after.....?

Interesting: From your treatment so far it looks like that you have had a good workup. Two things may have been overlooked like your diet, your emotional situation. Your obesity might indicate irritating and poor choice of foods. Snoring might indicate restless sleep that may indicate an ear, nose & throat problem or a psychiatric problem. Please consult with your family physician. & see him/her for a referral to a psychologist. ...Read more

Colonoscopy says Ulceraroproliferative growth noted at 20cm from anal verge extending upto 3cm and 50%circumference. Diverticulae noted in descending 40cm from anal verge. Does this mean cancer?

Colonoscopy says Ulceraroproliferative growth noted at 20cm from anal verge extending upto 3cm and 50%circumference. Diverticulae noted in descending 40cm from anal verge. Does this mean cancer?

It's concerning: This sounds large....up to 17 cm and halfway encircling the sigmoid colon. Potentially it could be something benign, but the fact that words suggesting ulceration and proliferation are used raise concern for cancer as well. I'm certain you are scheduled for follow-up; this should be as soon as possible. All the best wishes:) ...Read more

Recently had a colonoscopy and the report states very tight rectosigmoid, diffiicult colon and single diverticulum noted. What does all this mean.

Need more info: Kath - the most concerning thing from what you are describing is "tight". It sounds like a stricture. The stricture is from chronic inflammation or a cancer. In either event, you are 44 years old. I would highly consider removing his part of your colon given these two findings. Please speak with your doctor further or with a surgeon. ...Read more

Had colonoscopy 1 year ago. Found inflammation and divirticuli. Still having abdominal cramps, nausea and have fresh blood on paper after diahrea.

Get checked out: Sounds like you had an episode of acute diverticulitis a year ago. The symptoms now might indicate the same. Alternative possibilities for the pain now include diverticulosis without the inflammation/infection, ibs (irritable bowel) or colitis (us or crohn's). The fresh blood is indicative of bleeding from a anorectal source most commonly hemorrhoids. See your doctor about this. ...Read more
