You may also have a generalized infection, such as the flu or strep throat, that affects many parts of your body. ULQ abdominal pain for 1 1/2 years doc thought gastritis and month ago put me on Prilosec but it hasn't helped what else could it be? Next steps?
Labs and imaging: if your pain is in the right upper part of the abdomen an UltraSound is appropriate to look for gallstones. if left upper side a CT scan may be better. and if those are clear a referral to GI doc for a Upper Endoscopy. keep taking prilosec. add zantac at bedtime-150mg OTC and avoid all foods that can worsen acidity-tomato's/alcohol/chocolate/spicy/vinegar/citrus/pepprmint/caffeine/hot temp foods ...Read more
