Is it safe to take ritalin (methylphenidate) la that expired a year ago? And if so, will it still work properly?

The military studied this many yrs ago, &found drop-off in effectiveness negligible for such meds for much more than a decade. I usually take Sandoz Ritalin, but pharmacy only had corepharma, Does the corepharma work at all? I feel no benefit on this corepharma Ritilian.

Dispensing errors po: ssible. Sometimes the pharmacist, in error, dispenses the incorrect medicine. In theory, the generic version of the medicine is supposed to have the same bioavailabilibility as the brand name. The fact that that you don't feel anything argues that you probably have gotten the wrong drug or the wrong dose. Go back to the same store with the medicine in the bottle that you got there. ...Read more

I know the text book answer is NO , BUT if I take methadone in the early morning & take Ritalin (methylphenidate) in the afternoon (not long term) , would ritalin (methylphenidate) work?

May be: In theory the two drugs don't interact, as they have opposite effects, not additive effects, methadone has a long half-life, it stays in the system longer, at least 16 hours, its elimination depends on many factors, how active is the liver, how acidic is the urine for example or alkaline, etc.. Also depends on other medicines you are on, counsel your doctor again, both are schedule II medications, ...Read more
