Doctor insights on:
How Effective Is Tri Sprintec
One month: It takes the first cycle (Or pack of pills) for any birth control pill to become fully effective. Use condoms for the first pill pack.
Tri-sprintec: It is not effective during the time frame that it is irregularly used and back up protection should be used at that time.
One week: I assume you mean for contraception. There are other reasons to take a birth control pill, but they work to prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. It takes about one week to reliably prevent ovulation or to avoid pregnancy from recent ovulation. If you want to be more sure of prevention start the pill with a menstrual cycle and it is reliable as your cycle is ending.
Help! On tri-sprintec, take at different times each day 2-3 hrs differsnce. Will it still be effective if condom broke? Is safe use next choice w/ b/c?
YES IT IS: Yes trisrintec is an effective and active birth control pill.
Birth control: Sprintec has the same level of hormone throughout the entire 3 weeks of active pills (this is called monophasic), whereasTri-Sprintec has 3 different levels of hormones over the 3 weeks of active tablets (this is called triphasic). Everyone reacts differently to these types of birth control pills. Both are very effective at preventing pregnancy when taken as prescribed.
I have been on tri sprintec for 2 years now? Recently I have not been taking them at the same time maybe an hour difference? Will that affect it?
Birth Control Pills: Taking your pills within an hour of the same time everyday will not make any difference in their effectiveness.
1 week: Switching brands of pills should not change your cycle. Your period should be the same as usual. Just start the new brand on schedule.
Tri-sprintec: See: http://www. Drugs. Com/sfx/tri-sprintec-side-effects. HtmlGet a more detailed answer ›
Yes: It shouldn't be a problemGet a more detailed answer ›
Little interaction: As far as I know, there is little interaction between these two. It should be ok to use them together.
Was taking tri sprintec and switched to Junel.....have spotting and am only at the beginning of the 3rd week of pills. Is this normal?
Can be: When one switches brands or forms of birth control pills, yes this can happen. If this persists after the first two months, talk to your doctor.
I'm on tri-sprintec I been on it for 4 months now, I'm on my 3rd week & getting cramps more than regularly is it normal? I always take it right.
Doctor can evaluate: Four months is long enough to decide if a brand of birth control pill is helpful or bothersome. The doctor can evaluate to see if a different one can be tried. Tri-sprintec is an oral contraceptive manufactured by teva pharmaceuticals. This is the generic for the brand name ortho tri-cyclen. The "tri" in the name refers to the three different levels of hormones included in the pills' 28-day cycle.
My dermatologist she had prescribed me tri-sprintec but after reading the review's I am scared to gain weight, what can I do to not gain weight?
Discuss: You could get opinion of gynecologist on this. This would relieve your mind.
Is it safe to take tri-sprintec and next choice? What are risks? Do I need take next choice if I don't take b/c at same time daily? Worried please help
Contraception: 1. An emergency contraceptive like Next Choice can be taken if an oral contraceptive like tri-sprintec is used (inconsistently or for less than a month). 2, you don't need to take an emergency contraceptive if you have not missed daily pills (not taking at same time does not mean that you are not consistent). 3. There are risks with any medications - you can look up respective meds at drugs. Com.
Just started tri-sprintec. Completed 2 full weeks and am on my 2nd day of the 3rd wk. Started brown discharge started on 4/2 and still coming. Normal?
Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time) is very normal on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time. If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working. Just continue taking.
Call the doc: Who put u on that pill, and ask your doc, I do not prescribe that generic pill, I use mostly monphasic pills, my #1 pill is loloestrin and if my pts want to skip the period they do not take the placebo pills and start a new pack, this works much better with a monophasic pill than a tri- phasci pill that u are on.
