How Early Is Too Early To Take Synthroid In The Morning
Never too early: Thyroid replacement medications should be taken once daily. It doesn't really matter when during the day you take them--the medications have very long half lives. This means that the drug's level in your body won't fluctuate very much depending on when during the day you take the pill. ...Read more

Each morning before I take my synthroid I feel very bad and about 1 hr after taking it feel good. Why is that? Does it wear off by the morning?
Possibly,..: Everyone metabolizes medications differently, and in your case, your symptoms are what they are, so it is possible the meds are waxing in the AM. Try talking to your Dr. and maybe taking the meds at Noon or even in the PM hours may help decrease the feeling you get in the AM. Best wishes. ...Read more
Yes: Thyroxine is best absorbed into the body if it is taken on an empty stomach with no other medications or supplements, and you wait at least 40 min to eat. The alternative is to take it at least 2 hrs after you have eaten, and again wait 40 minutes before eating. You are always better off taking the thyroxine later in the day if you forgot to take it in the morning rather than skipping the dose. ...Read more
Either: It is usually recommended that you take the medicine in the morning about an hour before eating. Fasting prior to the dose appears to be more important than whether it is taken in the morning or in the evening. Therefore nighttime is also fine. I did not take my pill last night 175 mcg of synthroid (thyroxine) so I took it this morning at 10 then tonight I accidentally took two will I be ok?
Should be...oops :(: At 35 y/o if u have no other major med conds u should be fine. Synthroid (thyroxine) builds up slowly and stays a while. Not being perfect on timing is not a major concern. 525mcg in 1 day is a little<1/2 of what is in your body, a pretty big dose. U may feel get a jittery, shaky or have some palps. If sig sx's see your doc! Skip 2 doses & restart as usual. I must add, some try it for wt loss->very unsafe! ...Read more
I always forget to take thyroxine right after awaking in the morning.what if i forget to take my tablet before breakfast.can i take it after breakfas?
Try This: I will recommend to patients that they take a pill out the night before and leave it on the nightstand with a glass of water. As most people will wake up before they actually get out of bed, you could take the medication when you open your eyes. By the time you are ready to get up and take on the day, it will likely be fine to have breakfast. Just a suggestion! ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

I'm taking 25mg of synthroid (thyroxine) and I would like to start taking my birth control again. I take my synthroid (thyroxine) at 10pm. Is it ok to take my bc in morning?
Doesn't matter: Thyroid hormone levels do not rise and fall after each dose because of its long half life in the blood so it does not matter when you take it and it will not interact with your BC. Also, 25 mcg is a very small dose for an adult and if your thyroid tests are fine on that dose, there is a good chance you could do fine without it. ...Read more

Yes it can: it is suggested by the american journal of clinical nutrition that prenatal vitamin absorption is best if the vitamins are taken 30-60 minutes before a meal. this is a very good question Marie. Just remember too that you should not take anything with your synthroid (thyroxine). Hope this helps ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I m hypothyroid and on synthroid (thyroxine). A small query. If I take bittergourd juice in morning or evening with a gap of 3 hrs with synthroid (thyroxine), is it ok ?
Fine: Not a problem. There are some things to consider: AVOID two herbs: lemon balm and bugle weed, which may interfere with the actions of this medication. Soy foods appear to interfere with the absorption of thyroid medications and the two should be taken at least 2-3 hours apart. ...Read more
I have hypothyroidism and take 50 microgram synthroid (thyroxine) every morning before breakfast. can i take it and then go on sleeping before the breakfast?
Synthroid (thyroxine) dosing.: Synthetic needs to be taken on an empty stomach, which would sometimes be tough to schedule. That being said, it doesn't have an immediate effect on your body, so you can take it and go back to sleep without worrying about being overly awoken or stimulated. ...Read more
