Can you tell me how early can babies be healthily born?

Depends on Healthy: 3 wks and above are not even classified as early. 10 weeks early and above the outcomes are good with lower risks of prolonged ventilator needs and can generally go home within a month of due date. Every 2 weeks earlier, the risks of deathbad outsomes go up and length of stay goes up. Edge of viability (not counting good outcome) is 16-17 weeks early. ...Read more

I'm 17 weeks pregnant, is it too early to tell the babys gender?

Not too early: Now is just about the right time. By 17 weeks, a good ultrasound should be able to determine the baby's gender. Usually, i schedule the ultrasound closer to 20 weeks to allow time for all of the organs to be fully formed so the answer will be very clear. Earlier than that, it is still possible that it will be too early to tell. ...Read more
