Does amitriptyline work well for hypochondria? I'm only on 10mg, x4 weeks. Not helping much, brought my appetite back, thats it. Can i take citalopram 10mg in morning and amtriptyline 10mg at bedtime?

Need therapy too: Amitriptylene does not "work for hypochondria" per se, but it can decrease certain physical symptoms like anxiety, insomnia, and loss of appetite. Individual psychotherapy is essential in hypochondriasis, so you learn to work with anxiety in healthy ways. ...Read more

Been taking citalopram 20mg for 4 weeks, anxiety worse, headache, insomina, loss of appetite. Am i ok to just stop taking?

You are on a starting dose so you can stop it without problem, but the best advice would be to consult your prescriber to determine other options. ...Read more

SSRI: This antidepressant should not be causing night sweats, but anything can happen. Would discuss this with the doctor who prescribed it. Also might help to take your temperature before the time at which the sweats occur (sweats reduce temperature) and if you have fever it may be due to the drug or to something else for which you need to be evaluated. ...Read more

Had swollen thyroid glands and night sweats got really depressed and lost my appetite fatigue insomnia all getting better on citalopram 20mg now ?

Had swollen thyroid glands and night sweats got really depressed and lost my appetite fatigue insomnia all getting better on citalopram 20mg now ?

Depression or Viral: Your symptoms except the 'swollen thyroid' could be explained by depression, which citalopram helps. It could also be infectious mononucleosis (glandular fever), which gives swollen lymph nodes, and can be tested for (& resolves spontaneously). If thyroid or lymph node swelling persists for more than a couple weeks, you should have an ultrasound of the thyroid and neck to exclude rarer diseases. ...Read more
