How Does The Stomach Bug Show Up During A Colonoscopy
Gastro recommended CT and colonscopy for mild abdominal pain/gas. 23 yrs old. If CT scan shows nothing, is colonoscopy necessary? no bloody stools
Options available: CT scan of the abdomen may be indicated but not for mild pain alone. If the symptoms are progressive and there is concern for Cancer(unlikely in your age group), then only I would consider doing a CT. Similarly Colonoscopy is not indicated because of pain alone. If there is bowel irregularity or blood in stool Colonoscopy is reasonable to do. In your case I would watch /monitor for 4-6 weeks, then ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

If I have a stomach bug (gastro) is it possible to poop myself whilst sleeping? & if so how can I prevent it.
It is possible, but: when one suffers from gastroenteritis, it is possible to have stool urgency so abrupt that you have incontinence of stool. Most of the time, however, one will awaken with cramping which will alert you that you need to get to the toilet immediately. Most people with normal anal sphincter tone will be able to reach the toilet before having an accident. Good luck. ...Read more
A couple months ago, during a stomach bug, i was vomiting. I felt a pop in my jaw, but thought nothing of it. On and off jaw pain since, tmj?
TMJ: Very possibly tmj. You most likely injured the joint capsule while vomiting. See your dentist for treatment. A short term splint therapy (3-6 mos) should do the trick and then keep the splint and wear it once or twice a week in the event you ever need it again. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Hi, my colonoscopy result 1. Mucosal biopsy from ileum shows hypertrophied lymphoid follicles. I have a vague discomfort in the lower right abdomen. I am afraid. Should I be worried?
Not from this:
All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, what you described of the biopsy is a non-specific finding and not diagnostic of any thing.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. ...Read more

Good day Dr. Hiroshi. I have been diagnosed with GERD 3 months after endoscopy and colonoscopy. Stomach shows severe gastritis; atrophic type I think.
And the question?: atrophic gastritis is really rare in the young. Certainly lowering acid secretion with a proton pump inhibitor, looking for H Pylori, seeing what foods are tolerable, and watching for bleeding are some things to do. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26958813 worse news, you need scoping periodically because it can lead to cancer ...Read more
3rd colonoscopy, 1st time painful during and after. Why tender in abdomen. Sedation was not effective . No gas, polyps, disease. CD in remission. ?
Would advanced colon cancer show up on a CT scan of my abdomen ? Reg CT scan not virtual colonoscopy.
Imaging/biopsy: The imaging modality of ct scan could show findings that would be concerning for cancer, mass around your colon, enlarged lymph nodes in the same area. However, the diagnosis is made at biopsy, a piece of the mass under the microscope of a pathologist. Often the ct scan leads to the biopsy. Good luck, it is important to get the evaluation completed. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
