No: Shingles is confined to the nerve distribution of whatever nerve is infected (we call these 'dermatomes'). So the rash will spread out as a band only on one side (L or R) of the body. It may take a couple days to fully spread out and become red, blistery & painful. Hopefully seeing a doc before that happens could limit or prevent that. I've shut down 2 cases where the pt came in just before rash. ...Read more
