How Does Pentamidine Induce Hypoglycemia
I have excercise induced hypoglycemia. I train intense martial arts, and drink 100% apple juice to help. Am I feeding a vicious cycle by doing so?
Hypoglycemia.: You might be right about that vicious cycle. You might be better served ingesting small meals containing complex carbohydrates and fiber every two hours or so. Remember, simple sugars in excess can trigger hypoglycemia. Complex carbohydrates would not cause insulin spikes and would give you sustained energy during your exercise. ...Read more
Hi, my friend aged 31 has been diagnosed with sepsis which has lead to hypoglycemia, apparently been put in an induced coma - how severe is this?
I'm very insulin sensitive triathlete with protein induced hypoglycemia (specially leucine rich, like dairy). Do you know a doctor who can help me?
Too much protein: Eating pure protein without any carbs does cause a drop in sugar shortly after eating. Protein needs to be balanced with some carbs to prevent this. If you look at the glucose response to protein (lower at first, then higher 3-4 hours later) and carbs (spike at first, then dip 3-4 hours later), they balance each other nicely. ...Read more

So if you take insulin or your pancreas makes it inappropriately, yes ...Read more

Define: Hi. Please define hypoglycemia. If you're not taking diabetes drugs, true pathological hypoglycemia is vanishingly rare. Did you become confused, lose consciousness, have a seizure? If not, there is a popular self-diagnosis of "hypoglycemia" that isn't real. There are rare syndromes where tumors or other conditions can cause hypoglycemia; bet you don't have one. See an endocrinologist if indicated ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Balance : The best diet is relatively high in protein. You should avoid processed sugars and starches, although many natural complex carbs, such as potatoes, are fine.
