How Does Methadone Affect Life
I have been on methadone for a year, it has ruined my sex life what can I take to stimulate my self?
Probably not: Liver dysfunction is not listed as a serious or less serious effect of Methadone use. One should always be careful with long term use of medications and have routine follow up and lab studies. Many medications used with Methadone certainly could cause liver dysfunction. Methadone is a very serious medication. Take its use and follow up very seriously. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Most of those mom's also smoked through pregnancy, had lower birth weight babies, many had other psychosocial issues, as well as other drug/alcohol use. The good news is that in those babies, despite early delays, development ok at 3 y/o. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
If you have your heart and lung function monitored regularly. Will methadone affect you in the long term and i'm negative matter?
It may: Methadone is a full mu receptor opioid agonist which means the body will develop a tolerance to it and a higher dose will be needed to obtain the same desired effect. Methadone at high doses can cause cardiac arrest. Drug-drug interaction should be assessed for as well. The choice really depends on what it's being used for or is it even necessary. ...Read more
What is the equivalent amt of morphime one would need to take day if they r switching from 120mg methadone daily?
It varies by person: Equvalencies when switching from Methadone are tricky. At low doses it is 3:1 so 120 would equal 360. At higher doses of Methadone and with more chronic use- some say that the equivalence can be as much as 10:1 (1200mg) however, there is no such thing as perfect cross tolerance and a starting dose of another opioid should be less than half the equivalent dose followed by quick adjustments. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
