How Does Junk Food Affect The Excretory System
As you know,: The excretory system removes excess, unnecessary materials from body fluids. These materials are removed in urine, feces, exhaled, sweat, etc. Junk food: non-nutritional food often high in sugar/fat and low in fiber, protein, vitamins or minerals. These are not a challenge to the excretory system but to metabolism often leading to obesity, diabetes, arterial plaque. AVOID THEM!!
Start with: Consuming good healthy foods, preferably organic and then if not feeling better but somewhat bolstered by the good stuff, you can consider a formal cleanse program. I suggest you get guidance for that type of approach from a functional nutritionist. Pick from the wide spectrum of naturally colored foods, as close to nature made them, then commit to avoiding the fake food.
Variable: Depending on your social group and its eating habits, junk food can have variable effects on your social life. If the people around you have no concern for their health, they may not value eating other types of foods and you might be "different" if you were eating more mindfully than others. Junk food can also make you gain weight, which can have other social painful effects such as isolation.
Brain chemistry: Junk foods contain more sugars, salts and other chemicals that make us crave them more. They have poor nutritional value. All of this will have an effect on how the brain functions. Choose healthier foods, more fruits and veggies, more water, and you will feel better.
One option: Clear your home and/or work environment of the junk food. There are reasons that these foods are craved. If you work with a nutritionist to create a healthy meal plan and stick to it with good fats like nuts, avocado, coconut oil, and healthy proteins and lots of vegetables with some small healthy fruits, you might just lose the temptation....
It is bad for you: Junk food is junk food and iasalways unhealthy so if you are bulking with junk you are creating junk and sabotaging the very goal you have.
Several things: One, it's sounds like you to minimize your access to junk food. This means keeping junk food out of your home and work space. Two, when you get a junk food craving find something to distract yourself. Even with that it's going to require a lot of willpower.
If I never give my child any junk food, will she enjoy it since she can't compare it to anything else?
Never?: Never is a very long time! You need to be realistic and set a good example. Provide lots of healthy food choices and snacks for home. At parties and vacations and social occasions you may have to be a little more lax about food choices! Try not to use food as a reward or punishment. Teach your child early about nutrition!See 2 more doctor answers
I crave junk food everyday. I know I shouldn't be having it much. I have it in large amounts & then I feel guilty about it. How should I help myself?
Will power: No magic answer. You realize what you should and should not be doing, so take the first step and stop buying the junk food so it is not around to tempt you. If a real issue, see the Dr. And possible therapy, hypnosis, etc. May help. Best wishes.
Do not offer junk: At this age toddlers are refining their "no" skills and sometimes it is difficult not to just give in. Remember you are building life long eating habits and your aim is to create a healthy relationship with food. Junk food is not food. It is fillers, chemicals, sugars, and fat. A solution is, simply do not offer it and do not have it in the house. Kids will not starve themselves. Be patient!
Wean: Wean yourself slowly off the amount of your sugar addiction, try replacing the junk items with fresh fruits which also have natural sugars. You body over time will adjust and the cravings will diminish. It has been shown that too much sugar in the diet may lead to Insulin resistance in the brain and early dementia.

How do I stop craving junk food, I can't seem to stop I'm not over weight, just want to be healthier, or is there anything I can take to help?
Behavioral change: Your craving for junk food is a habit that you developed after years of repetitive behavior. Every habit has a trigger, action and reward. There are usually a chain of behaviors that lead up to the urge or craving to eat junk foods. You can break the chain at any link and when you do you can change the outcome. Being mindful of your desire to be healthy will allow you to make better decisions.
Really, really bad: Junk food generally refers to foods that are high in salt, saturated fats, simple sugars and huge amounts of 'empty calories', which means they have little or no nutritional value, but make you fat. Based on the epidemic of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and strokes, cancer....It is the most devastating of addictions, including heroin and cocaine. And yes, I do mean 'addiction'.
Willpower: Hi. I sympathize, but you have to start living a healthy lifestyle if you don't want your unhealthy lifestyle to start catching up with you. It takes commitment, but but many of us have made the choice to live a healthy lifestyle, and love it. Eat healthy foods and exercise regularly FOR LIFE. Don't smoke. It's worth it. Good luck!
YOU can: You can stop your own temptation of junk food, but you may need help to do it. Eliminating sugars from your diet will help a lot -- you'll find that cravings for "junk" will diminish rapidly once you're through this process. Beginning your day with a protein-based shake with almond milk or coconut milk blended with high fiber berries or greens may help too.See 1 more doctor answer
Don't buy it: Although we are constantly tempted by junk food since it is available at stores and restaurants all around us, one place we can control its' presence is in our homes. If you consider that any junk food in our cupboards or refrigerators will probably get eaten, the best thing to do is not to buy it or bring it into the house to begin with. Just don't buy it!See 2 more doctor answers
Several reasons: The processed chemicals/food stuffs in "junk" food is less than optimal for your body to be exposed to and could have harmful long term effects. But more so, "junk" food tends to be calorically dense but nutritionally "light". . so you get all the calories with limited micronutrient benefits. That's a recipe for gaining weight without gaining health!
