Somewhat better.: Ibuprophen is anti-inflammtory has well as being a pain reliever. Acetominophen is a pain reliever but has no effect on inflammation. While neither is all you should be taking for an inflammatory arthritis. Both can be used in degenerative arthritis, but their is some inflammation exist in this condition too! go iwth the ibuprophen or naproxen. Try Alleve: "sore" knees due to arthritis in your case( apparently)may respond to a trial of alleve. Alleve is low dose naprosyn (naproxen) and is cheap and effective in mild to moderate arthritis . I ususually start w/ 2 in am( w/ breakfast) and 2 @ dinner.Some patients respond better to advil ( Ibuprofen ). Check w/ your family physician to make sure either of these otc meds is safe for u( w/ other meds u are taking ). ...Read more

Yes: You can take them together, however u may get more benefit alternating them - for example 4-6 hrs separation. However do not take more than 4000mg of Acetaminophen in any 24hr period. You can do this for a couple of days - any longer pls see a doc. ...Read more

Please Dr ASAP: We do not want you to kill yourself. Taking such huge doses of aceto. + Ibuprofen will slowly destroy your kidneys and possibly your liver + GI tract. It will be a slow + miserable way to die. Please consult with your family dr., pediatrician or a psychiatrist asap. You are obviously depressed and see no other way out, but there is. Is it ok to take these two medicines together? It's Coricidin and ibuprofen? The Coricidin has acetaminophen in it so i wasn't sure if it was ok to take with anything else.
