How Does Human Growth Hormone Increase Testosterone
A hormone (from greek ὁρμή, "impetus") is a chemical released by a cell or a gland in one part of the body that sends out messages that affect cells in other parts of the organism. Only a little amount of hormone is required to alter cell metabolism. In essence, it is a chemical messenger that transports a signal from ...Read more
Endocrinologist Hi. I am on 2 iu's of Human Growth Hormone along with 1 cc weekly of Testosterone. How long are they in my system after stopping?
Opinions on what's better human growth hormone or testosterone as far as being safe and effective?
For what purpose?: Safe & effective is relative. Even when discussing antibiotics, you don't want to take them unless you really need to do so, such that the desired benefit outweighs the potential risks & side effects. If you truly have growth hormone deficiency, then hGH might be worth it. However, you better have good insurance b/c it's pricey. If you truly have low Testosterone, then TRT might be beneficial. ..
Would a testosterone blood test be the same as human growth hormone test? Are they the same or two completely different tests?
Two different tests: Growth homone released by pituitary gland in the brain when you are in deep sleep. Usually measured with an igf-1 test. Testosterone produced in testes, and has 2 peak relase times during am & pm. Usually measure with free and total testosterones levels.See 2 more doctor answers
Could hydrocortisone cream applied on testicles permanently reduce testosterone or human growth hormone?
Steroid cream: Nope. Not at all.Get a more detailed answer ›
If deficient yes: Otherwise, it will just increase your risk of diabetes, headaches, fluid retention, etc. Of course there are many conditions where gh have shown efficacy despite lack of ghd per say (such as turners syndrome). Talk with your endocrinologist if you are seeking such therapy to see if you qualify.See 1 more doctor answer
Why do you want to?: HGH can be very dangerous for self prescribers. There are many medical reasons for doing so, usually after a diagnosis requiring therapy by an endocrinologist. There is a huge amount of nonsense posted on the Internet with regard to hCG.
No: At 48 yo you are long past that. Growth plates fuse in late adolescence. If you take hgh as an adult you will only make yourself ill. Acromegaly occurs in adults who have gh secreting adenomas. Growth factor increases can raise risk for malignancy.
My husband likes to often rub and message my legs. Any truth to that stimulating human growth hormone and causing height to increase in an adult?
Messaging or rubbing: Legs will not lead to increase in height. As an adult you have already reached your peak height.
Trying to cut down on my caffeine intake--can too much caffeine before bed effect human growth hormone and cause height to increase (age: upper 30s)?
No reason to: There is an immense amount of nonsense on the internet about human growth hormone. There are some bona fide reasons to use it, such as any premie with IUGR may benefit for catch-up growth and to attain a normal adult height. If a full grown man takes it, it may cause acromegaly (think of the James Bond "Jaws") because bones can't grow longer, just wider. An endocrinologist can evaluate if ok.See 1 more doctor answer
Sleep well to grow: Growth hormone is released during sleep-so if you can get good quality sleep, that will help your body regulate it's own hormones. We call sleeping well-'sleep hygiene'. Also, before the invention of the electric light, diaries indicated we slept TEN hours a night on average, not just 8. Try keeping a sleep log to see if you're getting good enough sleep (running a sleep deficits means you are not)
High intensity sport: A sprinter running the 400m will have an hgh spike greater than someone running 5k. Weightifters doing only a few rep max, will have greater increase in gh levels than someone doing many reps. It is absolutely conclusive as shown by a number of studies.
Not: Unless given as an IV infusion. Besides, there's no advantage and potential dangers to increasing growth hormone at that age.
3 HGH questions: 1.does fasting increase human growth hormone? 2. How long should you fast for, for maximum HGH? 3. Good to exercise while fasting?
Fasting and growing: At age 16 you should still be growing and definitely do not fast. Almost certainly at a younger age your pediatrician has measured your height and weight several times. This is reported on a page that shows growth in height and weight. If your parents do not have this information you should contact the pediatrician and get a copy of you height and weight growth.
What to do if I have been wanting to increase my testosterone and growth hormone so I can get exceptionally stronger.?
Exercise & nutrition: Seriously! Exercise, good nutrition, and yes, deep restorative sleep, are necessary to get exceptionally stronger and healthier. Rather than focus on your Testosterone & Growth Hormone levels, focus your attention on exercise, good nutrition & adequate sleep. If you're still not satisfied at that point, then go see your family doc who can evaluate for other causes holding you back. Good luck!
