Stomach pain will tend to stay over your stomach while appendix pain can start almost anywhere in your abdomen but will eventually start to move down to the lower-right. If you have fever, nausea, don't want to eat and it hurts to jump up and down, you should be out the door to the er. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

What else should I be advocating for, in regards to my seven year old daughter who suddenly became sick 2months ago and still is she had severe stomach pain. Doc thought appendix. Then they said constipated and I said no she goes once or twice a day. Not
It: It sounds like your doctors have been very thorough in trying to find out what is causing your daughter's discomfort and a scope seems like a logical next step. The GI doctor has the ability to see the esophagus (the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach), the stomach, the first part of the small intestine and the colon with a scope. Doctors tend to do the scope before a barium swallow because the barium can coat the insides of the gastrointestinal tract and make it impossible to see. If you have questions about what the GI doctor is looking for specifically and whether they are just doing an upper endoscopy (mouth to upper small intestine) or including a colonoscopy and why, just call and ask. I'm sure they'd be happy to answer your questions. ...Read more
