Possible: In children, abdominal pain with fever can also be a pneumonia, b/c pain is typically referred to the diaphragm. The appendix initially presents with stomach pain but then moves to the right lower quadrant of the patient. I do think you need to see your pediatrician to have your child evaluated. If one is constipated for several days, stool can back up all the way to the right side, and cause pain. Having gas may or may not be related to the discomfort (lactose intolerance will cause gas).
