Difficult to tell: Good question. You can vomit from both. You can have diarrhea. Usually the flu will give you a fever. It could also give you a rash. If you can, get a nasal swab to test for flu. There is medicine which can shorten the flu and maybe lessen the severity. In any case replace fluids with water or ginger ale to maintain a good urine output.
