Stress affects most people in some way. Acute (sudden, short-term) stress leads to rapid changes throughout the body. Almost all body systems (the heart and blood vessels, immune system, lungs, digestive system, sensory organs, and brain) gear up to meet perceived danger. Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Fortunately, research is showing that lifestyle changes and stress-reduction techniques can help people learn ...Read more

People who engage in activities known to increase cancer risk, because they're stressed, can increase their cancer risk, though. ...Read more
Depression stress my brother died 8 years ago he was 16 i was 15 then my father was diagnosed with cancer twice?
I would recommend: You see you doctor to rule out any physical cause of depression. I would also recommend that you see a psychiatrist for medication for what may be a mixture of posttraumatic stress disorder and depression. Psychotherapy can be determined by the psychiatrist. Prolonged grief especially at the age that you were at when these events happened often has the tendency to act more like ptsd chemically and in response to medication. Best wishes and sorry to hear about the tragedies in your life. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
