Have it evaluated.: Pain, swelling, and bruising are signs of a possible fractured or sprained toe. Have it evaluated and x-rayed.See 1 more doctor answer
Just stubbed my pinky toe not even an hour ago, it hurt for about ten minutess. Now it stings really bad and is bruised blue and purple. Is that bad? .
Maybe: Try off-loading it with a stiff sandal and wrapping it next to the 4th toe (buddy splinting). Use ice and antiinflammatory medication (ibuprofen, etc). If it continues to hurt for 1-2 weeks, you may need to see a doctor, but all they'll do is what I just instructed with an xray. Good luck.See 2 more doctor answers
Caught my pinky toe on a chair on Thanksgiving. Taping it to next toe, made it hurt more. Swelling is gone and bruising below other toes. Sug?
Get it x-rayed: See if its broken. I was never one for buddy taping. I prefer just to wrap the injured toe.
I stubbed my pinky toe last week and is still swollen, bruised and painful to touch and walk on it. I'm type II diabetic.?
If I bend my toes, my pinky toe makes a popping sound sometimes. Also, when I push it, it hurts like a bruise. I don't remember hitting it...
Contusion: You must have injured the Last toe (pinky) knowingly. Do what is called Buddy taping. It is not weight bearing Toe so it will heal. Apply Ice and tape it with the adjacent Toe to prevent movement. Do not wear close toe shoe. If pain continues bend 1 week o gets worse, get frayed.
I stubbed my pinky toe a few days ago and it is very red, swollen, and sensitive to touch. I am not sure if it is broken because there is no bruising.
It could be.: If it hurts to move it could be fractured. But a pinky toe rarely needs any special treatment. Sometimes buddy taping the 5th toe to the 4th toe helps. Also wearing a hard sole shoe helps.See 1 more doctor answer
I stubbed my toe (the one next to the pinky toe) three days ago, and it is still badly bruised. Looks purpleish red, certain areas blackish. It's no?
Buddy taping.: As long as the stubbing has not left your toe with some obscene angular deformity, either up/down or right/ left, your toe will probably do just fine with a minimal amount of help. The blood is from vessels that have obviously been injured. The key now is prevent further injury as well as stabilize the toe so healing can proceed uninterrupted. Splinting seems to work in most cases.See 1 more doctor answer
I stubbed my pinky toe and its very bruised, swollen and has a burning sensation. Should I get it checked out by a doctor or just treat it at home?
Broken pinky toe? Stubbed it hard, its red and swollen. Cant bear any weight at all. Excruiting pain. No bruising yet. Been about 10 hrs.
I bruised my right pinky toe and outside edge of my foot. Now I have a big bruise underneath my foot on the instep. Why would that happen?
Stubbed pinky toe. Bruise on top; side & bottom of foot -- at joint of foot bone meets pinky toe. Hurts walking barefoot on hard surface. Broken?
Get an X-ray: To find out....I'd lean towards likely.Get a more detailed answer ›
My pinky toes have become tender to the touch and appears swollen out of no where especially my right pinky toe?
Check your shoe size: Make sure that your shoes are not causing this swelling from not being wide enough for your foot? At the end of the day this can be more pronounced than when you get up, and are walking around barefoot. If it has been a chronic problem, you need to see your PCP or your podiatrist to have this evaluated further. Since it's bilateral (both feet), it will be easier to treat together & may be simple.See 3 more doctor answers
Injury: Did you injure it, do you have ingrown toenail, see a podiatrist for further evaluation and treatment.
Hey, I have a purple bump under skin at the base of my pinky toe where it connects to the main part of my foot. It feels fleshy and tender to the touch?
When should I start walking after fifth toe displaced fracture? Ten days and still hurts when I lower my foot. New bruises also sprang up in foot
Maybe a second look.: I would think that ten days is enough time to allow you to walk with some mild to moderate pain. Since you are seeing new bruising something else should be considered. While enjoying the toe fracture, did you fracture something else that is now affecting you recovery. You need to get the foot x-rayed and check for other fractures. Nsaids should take the edge off and perhaps an accommodating shoe.See 1 more doctor answer
I had fifth toe fracture last week. Yesterday I noted a large bruise in the centre of foot extremely painful and is not letting me hang my foot/walk?
BRUISE/SPRAIN: You hit your toe against something hard enough to break it. My guess is, you hit the rest of the foot hard also, but didn't notice it because the toe hurt so much. Now it's badly bruised. Sincerely, Dr. LatvaSee 2 more doctor answers
X-rays: Seeing a doctor and getting x-rays will tell you if you fractured the toe or not. If you have swelling, bruising and pain of the little toe and movement is reduced or the toe appears out of alignment, it may indicate it is broken. X-rays will make the diagnosis.See 1 more doctor answer
