How Do The Excretory System The Digestive System And The Endocrine System Work Together
Physiology: This cannot be answered in this short a space. All the organ systems in the body interact, most commonly with feedback mechanisms. Get a physiology textbook and begin reading. It may take you some time, particularly if you are not a biology student. ...Read more

Better picture of how your endocrine system works, postprandial gluc level or 12 hour fasting gluc level? If postprandial is 120 or less are you ok?
Glucose: Hi. Your glucose after a 12 hour fast should be less than 100 mg/dl. Postprandial glucose of 120 or less is great. Finger stick BG's aren't for diagnosis. If you want the best reassurance, do a 2-hour 75 gram oral glucose tolerance test; that gives you fasting serum glucose and serum glucose after a defined glucose load, both of which are diagnostic. Good luck! ...Read more
Could you tell me what are some digestive disorders and endocrine complications you may have with diabetes?
Gastroparesis Angina: For advanced dm, gastroparesis (slow stomach emptying) is common and intestinal angina, due to widespread atherosclerosis plaque ruptures & clots inducing ischemia, becomes more common over time. Dm kidney failure (with assoc. Hypoplastic anemia) is most common basis for dialysis. For type i, other autoimmune ds are more common, including thyroid, addison's & gonadal failure. ...Read more

Brains to Bones: Endocrine glands secrete hormones into the bloodstream which direct the activity of other glands and organs. Few examples: part of the pancreas makes Insulin to help glucose fuel all the cells in the body; hypothalamus makes hormones directing the pituitary which directs ovaries, testes, thyroid, adrenals, etc. Pth from parathyroid glands maintains bone/blood calcium among other things. ...Read more

Probably Not: Foray 48b (btk) is an insecticide using spores from a bacteria to kill gypsy moth larvae. While there have been reports of allergic resctions, these would generally manifest themselves as asthma affecting the respiratory system, or theoretically as anaphylaxis causing shock. There are no us government sites linking foray 48b to any endocrine disease. ...Read more
Endocrine: Each hormone is a chemical that control function of many different organs. Brain hormones send orders to organs to work. Brain secretes TSH to order thyroid to work to control whole body. Sexual hormones control brain and whole body, as does Insulin controls use of sugar in whole body (brain included). Then hormones are inter-dependent. Delicate balance! ...Read more
Controls everything: The endocrine system is composed of "ductless" glands that produce various hormones. Thyroid hormone controls the bodies metabolism, adrenal hormone is involved with stress hormones, pituitary hormones control other hormones of the body including reproductive hormones. Insulin is a hormone that controls blood sugar. There are thousands of hormones in the body that control various systems. ...Read more
Simplistic summary: The pituitary is at the base of the brain and secretes stimulating hormones to the endocrine glands, such as thyroid and adrenals. The secondary glandular secretions both feedback and modulate brain and body homeostasis. ...Read more
My endocrine system has gone haywire and I've been diagnosed with addison's, what can I expect now?
Replace hormones: Your adrenal glands are not making enough cortisol and aldosterone. These hormones are important for maintaining blood pressure and salt balance. Your doctor will put you on corticosteroids, and maybe aldosterone (florinef). You may need to adjust the dose of your medications with your doctor. With proper medical management, people with addison's disease can live long healthy lives. ...Read more

What are two ways the endocrine system directly impacts the functions of the cardiovascular system?
Many...: Via adrenaline it puts more stress on the heart, making it beat harder, stronger and faster. Nor-adrenaline causes the blood vessels to contract, raising the blood pressure. High Insulin levels, as in "pre-diabetes" cause the release of free fatty acids which damages the blood vessel walls, causing plaque formation. Cortisol and other hormones also have adverse effects. ...Read more
