How can I stop the drooling after getting teeth pulled?

How can I stop the drooling after getting teeth pulled?

Swallow: There really is no reason to be drooling after an extraction. It is possible that having the gauze in your mouth to stop the bleeding may be stimulating some extra saliva, but it is just saliva and you should just swallow it. Once the bleeding has stopped you do need the gauze and that should slow down the saliva production. ...Read more

My lower left chin and lip are numb and itching from getting my wisdom teeth pulled. Does that mean the nerves are healing?

Progressive. ..: ... Improvement in the feeling you have, compared to what it was after the local anesthesia had completely worn off, is your indication of healing. For example, if your lip was completely numb the day after surgery but now itchy several days later, that improvement is an indication of the nerve recovering. What is the question: If your face was swollen and numb before the extractions then that should have started to heal after the extractions. My left side of my face is numb along with my shoulder blade. I have ear aches in both ears. I had 3 teeth pulled 8 days ago and stitches.?

Follow up: Question #1 is can you make normal facial expressions like smiling, winking with your left eye, etc. If not, we are talking about some kind of damage to the facial nerve which would be very uncommon after oral surgery. The earache doesn't worry me as much as that can be due to inflammation in the TMJ from pressure during the procedure. Follow up with either an oral surgeon your dentist. ...Read more

Numb tongue: Unfortunately, while it may resolve, this could be permanent. The nerve to the tongue is very close to the site of the operation to remove a wisdom tooth and is sensitive to injury. The injection to numb you for the surgery is a rare cause of it, although the operation to remove the tooth is a more likely reason. You should see an oral surgeon who repairs nerves for options and information. ...Read more

Half of my tongue is numb after wisdom tooth extraction, is this normal?

Half of my tongue is numb after wisdom tooth extraction, is this normal?

Paresthesia: I assume that you had a lower wisdom tooth removed and that the doctor who removed your tooth gave you an injection of a local anesthetic to numb the tooth. That injection also numbs the tongue on the same side. If the doctor accidentally hit the nerve during the injection, or traumatized the nerve during tooth removal, the tongue may remain numb for a while. Eventually, all feeling will return. ...Read more
