Oral Sore ?: If you know for sure that it's not herpes, then you probably should know what it is and how best to treat. Not being a dentist or a physician, i'm not sure how you know this for sure. Warm saltwater.: Warm saltwater rinses 3-5/day will help reduce inflammation and make the area more comfortable. Ibuprofen 400mg every 4 hrs will do the same. Ice directly on the sore for 10 minutes 4-5 times/day is difficult but really works. Eat only soft foods that are not spicy or hot to keep from irritating the area.
