Let her dictate: You can't force potty training. Offer her the opportunity to sit on the potty, especially after meals, prop her feet up on a little stool, set up a rewards system (a star chart), leave some books by the potty. Signs of readiness: are being able to walk from room to room, pull diaper, pull-pants up & down, be dry for 2 hours, say "potty" or other word to indicate she senses the urge to go. Given that the child is language delayed, knowing her "body language" will be of tremendous help, not only for potty training, but for language development.
