Not always: This depends on if you can see or feel the cancer physically or your doctor sees the tumor on setup x-rays. In these cases you could see the tumor shrinking and as such it is working. In many cases we are treating cancer that are too small to see even on x-rays and the therapy is based in studies that have shown radiation will work. Not usually.: ECT is what you try after most everything else fails. To figure that out, you need to talk with all the other docs and look over your history. Plus, ECT does not work overnight. You may want to see a physiatrist who can assess both your posture, spine, biomechanics, and function. Additionally, it appears that you have pulmonary issues for which your pmd or pulmonologist can optimize treatment. Pt is helpful but not as an isolated treatment for your conditions. ...Read more
