Kidney stones: GAckerman ~ so you certainly have "lithogenic urine" and are at risk. GO see your Urologist so he can have a dietician talk to you about lowering Calcium and PO4 in diet. You must hydrate all the time and get checked for hyperparathyroidism. Get uric acid and oxalates checked as well. Thx

Pain gone: The stone is likely passed if your pain is gone, you have likely passed the kidney stone. I would not stop a medication that has been given to you by your primary or urologist until you have discussed it with them unless you are having bad side effects to the medications. There is no significant harm in taking it for an additional night and discussing it with your doctor in the AM. Be well.

Do kidney stones hurt?

Do kidney stones hurt?

Yes: Kidney stones typically cause pain when they cause obstruction. This is when the stone sits somewhere in the ureter and cause the kidney to dilate. Stones that sits within the kidney and not causing the kidney to dilate may cause renal colic as well. Instead of causing the whole kidney to obstruct, it causes a small part of the kidney to obstruct (infundibulum–caliceal level) and can cause pain.
