Your appetite could be very heavy or very low. Feelings of guilt and liking yourself are less can occur. You may feel helpless or hopeless. Cocentration and memory can be impacted. You may be isolating from others and just not enjoying life. Your motivation levels and energy level could have dropped. Suicidal thoughts can occur in some people. Here's an important question? Have you deployed with oif or oef? Many of your symptoms could also be consistent with ptsd. You have an increased startle reflex and you are irritable. Your intermediate memory is poor. Other symptoms can include hypervigilance (not just being situationally aware); being constantly in fight or flight mode, nightmares, inability to sleep, being afraid to sleep; avoiding any thing (people, places, things or situations) that reminds you of past really upsetting trauma; fighting to push away thoughts or feelings about traumatic things. A lot of marines think that seeing a shrink will end their career. That really isn't so. If you have a really severe problem that doesn't improve with treatment then it could impact your career. However, depression and ptsd are really common problems in the corps. The important thing is to get help.
