Food allergies/acid: A lot of processed foods we eat causes heartburn, especially spicy foods and caffeine cause trouble with the valve between your esophagus and stomach. Others have food allergies or intolerance to for example lactose (milk products), or often these days, gluten. Watch your diet and see what foods cause trouble, then eliminate them from your diet if possible or substitute them. See your doc if worse. ...Read more

Maybe not just GERD: Further evaluation is key to determining if your symptoms are reflux-related or not. Also, if reflux, is it acid or non-acid material that is involved? Sometimes, pulmonary, ent, or dental issues are at play, & sometimes dysmotility or gastroparesis is the issue. Are you sure your acid blocker dose is sufficient & that you have been compliant with behavior & diet restrictions to minimize gerd? ...Read more

Post op: I recommend that you notify the endoscopist who performed your procedures about these symptoms as you are apparently experiencing severe abdominal distress which is not usual after the procedures. I feel you should be examined. Other worrisome symptoms would be fever, abdominal tenderness or distension. ...Read more

Possibly okay!: You may be responding to Esomeprazole, but the reflux does not completely heal for three weeks. Also avoid acid drinks such as cola, alcohol, acid foods, and stop nicotine products.
