How Do I Deal With A Torn Lat And Still Play Baseball
I have golfers elbow in both arms but I don't play golf. I do play a racket sport (right arm only) and do weights. What is cause and how to get rid?
How long till i can play rugby and figure skate I have a second degree MCL and meniscus sprain I have to see a sports medicine doctor when can I play?
Return-to-play: Mcl sprains are routinely successfully treated conservatively with hinged bracing. Some meniscal tears can be treated conservatively as well depending upon the tear location/blood supply. Regardless, return-to-play criteria are met when your pain resolves, and motion+strength are restored (graduated process). May consider bracing initially upon returning as well if any laxity persists. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
I think i have a bad acl can acl heal without surgery or can my knee work with a torn acl? i am a mma fighter?
I hasd shoulder anthroscopy surgery 7 weeks ago and my docor is refusing to let me play sports. i play volleyball and all i wanna do is underhand pass? can i do that?
Dislocated my shoulder twice , now I have a lebral tear.. Doctors told me its a small tear and you need physical theropy .. Can i play overhead sports?
Yes and no.: Labral tear in someone your age have a high likelihood of resulting in recurrent dislocations. I would avoid overhand sports for now (assuming your dislocation was anterior ie out the front). I would follow your dr.'s recommendation for therapy. However, even with your therapy it is more likely than not that you will redislocate. If that happens then arthroscopic labral repair is indicated. ...Read more
Can i play soccer i sprained my ankle 2 months ago there is a hard bump on my ankle it hurts a bit to run can I play or do I have to wait and how long?
Not ready: With a a simple ankle sprain most non professional soccer players ca return in 2-8 weeks . When you can run, cut and jump without ok pain or a sense of weakness. Taping or ankle bracing may be required till strength to protect further sprains has occurred. The "hard lump...Hurts" is concerning. I would get it checked out before i resumed play. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I tore my ACL and never got it repaired. What types of activities and sports can I do to stay active?
Plenty of options: Your acl stabilizes the knee with rotation, therefore you may have difficulty with jump, cutting, pivoting, twisting type sports. In-line activities like walking, running, biking, swimming, yoga, weight lifting should be possible with an acl-deficient knee. Some individuals are able to return to more aggressive sports without their acls with the use of a brace. Speak with an ortho doc. ...Read more
I was playing basketball and caused a minor sprain on my ankle yesterday and I have a baseball try-out tomorrow how do I heal it quick ?
RICE, RICE, baby: You can't speed up the biology of healing, but rest, ice regularly (20min every hour), gently place an ace wrap on your ankle, and keep your ankle elevated higher than your heart as much as possible. One day may not be enough time to recover but will give you best chance. When you do go back, use an ankle brace with laces and crisscrossing straps for added support. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have a torn acl, I have no pain, i can squat, jump, run and climb. I want to play soccer. If i strengthen my knee through gym can I avoid surgery?
ACL tear: The acl is the main ligament that keeps your shin bone from sliding out from under your thigh bone. There are people who can function without one but not usually playing a sport like soccer. The greatest risk is that you will go on to tear your meniscus and other cartilage and cause greater damage to your knee. I do not advise my patients to play soccer without a reconstruction. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

How effective is physical theropy after a shoulder dislocation.. I have a lebral tear and i want to play overhead sports later?
Depends: Recurrent dislocation rate with bankart tear is high (85% in military cadets). Surgery is increasingly recommended to repair even after only 1 dislocation. Pt doesn't put the labrum back in the right spot and get it to heal there. It either heals to the right spot or it doesn't. If not, recurrent dislocation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
