My 18 month old son has a leaky nose and cough for the last week. The nose liquid is clear and the cough seems to be dry. What can i do to help him?
Cold symptoms : he may have upper respiratory infections. Keep him well hydrated to help his body to fight infection. give him honey & tea for symptomatic relief ( since he is > 1 year old). My 7 month old has stuffy nose. What can I give her or do to help the stuffy nose and congestion? I am doing the saline spray/drop
?irritants?: The first months are troubled by narrow nasal passages & exposure to dust, fragrences, smoke & other irritants.Baby tries to flush these out of the nose with mucous but this often ends as congestion & produces rattling with breathing. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline & suctioning the remainder. Eliminate irritants from babies environment & this will happen less. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Try the following: You can apply vaseline on a qtip to the inside of the nose a couple of time a day. The best way to apply it is also with a qtip. ...Read more
My daughter has a cough due to allergies, can she take cough and allergy medicine at the same time?
Hard to say: You have not listed the age of the child and the meds involved,it matters. Some allergy meds will thicken secretions and make the mucous harder for a kid to couch out.We generally don't recommend many of these for kids under 6, more because they don't do much and some kids self medicate and end up in the ER with overdose symptoms. The more info you supply, the better info we can provide. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I am scheduled for foot surgery on 5/29 and am having seasonal allergies. No fever or cough, just runny nose and sinus pressure. Will they still do it?
When surgery is: Elective my preference is to have the patient "optimized" for surgery. Having said that, it would be upto anesthesia if they wanted to proceed. ...Read more
