My nephew's only 4day he has brain attack by MRI brain ' S vain swelled please tell me he live long or not?

Odd posting: MRI scanners do not attack anything. They use strong magnets to passively magnetize cells that line up with a north/south polarity that can be analyzed by the system. If he has a brain problem, it was there to begin with. Prognosis will depend on the real diagnosis. Since we do not have that information we cannot speculate on the outcome. ...Read more

Nerve Repair: Your discription indicates an injury to the lower trunk of the brachial plexus which contributes to the ulnar nerve that controls the hand. The timing from the injury is key as the optimal time for nerve repair is within the first 4 months. Grafts can be placed across the nerve resection site. If it has been longer than 6 months, the potential for nerve regeneration with any technique is bleak. ...Read more

My son has cerebal palsy and speech delay he smashing his head in frustation or when can't get his own way would this make his CP worse ?

Unlikely: Head banging is not limited to CP kids.In a way it is just an amplification of the early infant fussing.I've never heard or seen a head banger with a real head injury. This likely caught on when he noticed it grabbed your attention. If you ignore it(don't lock eyes), watching him out of peripheral vision, for safety, it should fade over time.Teaching some sign language may help with the frustration. ...Read more

See doctor and...: This may well be bell's palsy, but it may be best to see a doctor & make sure he has not had a stroke or other problem. Bell's palsy almost always gets better without treatment but anti-virals may help. However, bell's palsy can be a symptom of lyme disease so it is wise to make sure it is not related to that. My husband found out yesterday he's got Bell's palsy he afraid to kiss me or our child thinking we will get it or the virus that causes it. Panic ?

Bell's palsy...: ...is often (not always) from herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1) afftecting the facial nerve. If he has recurrent oral herpes (cold sores, fever blisters), he could transmit HSV1 at those times. Otherwise litle or no risk of passing it on and he doesn't need to avoid kissing you or anyone else. You and your child could have blood tests to see if already have HSV1; if so, you can't get it again. ...Read more

My brother was walking down the road yesterday when he felt some crack in his knee after which he was not able to move his knee please help me to cure?

KNEE PAIN: Unfortunately, over the computer, this is tough to "help you to cure." Your brother should get an exam and most likely an X-ray to see what the diagnosis is in his knee, especially with the "Crack" you heard. For know, use an ace wrap on his knee, get him some nsaids to take and have him see the Dr. for an evaluation and some testing. Good luck. ...Read more

My mom went in2 cardiac arrest & brought back but on life support -before her brain died completely could she hear me telling her I love her please?

Yes: It is likely that she heard you. I guess it was her time. I tell the loved ones and staff that are within earshot of my patients who are in a coma, to assume that everything they say can be heard and understood. Call or go back VA: If the medication is not working, i'm sure the prescribing doctor wants to know. Call the doctor or go back to the va to get re-evaluated for possibly another treatment regimen. Depending on what was given, sometimes it takes more than 1 day to feel better but if you are concerned, definitely go back. ...Read more
