Is the pinky tender?: Not completely clear. If there is a nerve along the finger he splint may relieve the nerve pressure to help the pinky. If the pinky itself is tender you would need to have that clarified. See your physician Read more

Wait rest then ot: Ice bath with finger motion when your doc takes you out of the splint they are waiting for a ligament to heal so you don't have problem later occupational therapist when out of splint. Read more

Hard to say.: Did you get it x-rayed? Sometimes an initial x-ray does not show a fracture, and it may not be evident on x-ray until a week later. Be sure to get checked again, though. You should be much better than you were the first week or so, if not, something else could be going on. Read more

Get an xray: Time to stop speculating ; get evaluation/diagnosis. Go see your family doc who can order an xray to prove whether broken or not. S/he can then discuss appropriate treatment options w/you. But until we have diagnosis, it's no use guessing. Read more

What is the problem?: I suspect you may have a trigger finger. If so splinting may take several weeks. A steroid injection may help this problem. Frequently surgical release is necessary. Read more

Yes...: With special hand splints that keep your hand in a functional position can help the hand from worsening. Also, seeing an occupational therapist can help w/ that also. See your md & ask for that special splint. You can also put a rolled up wash cloth in your hand to help keep your hand open. Ask to see an occupational therapist. Good luck! Read more

Your local, friendly: Hand surgeon can inject rx (i prefer celestone) into the area & achieve, in most cases, at least temporary relief. Ps: you might better say: "...Use my hand in my vocation."
