Can a yeast infection develop into something else like vaginosis or trich? I've a yeast infection for a while and want to know what could happen if not treated

Can a yeast infection develop into something else like vaginosis or trich? I've a yeast infection for a while and want to know what could happen if not treated

A : A yeast infection will likely go away on it's own if left untreated, but may not. It can lead to chronic discharge and itching, and a lot of unnecessary discomfort. The yeast will not develop into a bacterial vaginosis, however you can develop a secondary bacterial infection, meaning both yeast and bacteria are present at the same time. Also, yeast can not develop into trichomoniasis. This is an std (sexually transmitted disease) and requires treatment. Is there a reason why you are not treating your yeast infection? Are you sure it's yeast? Have you seen your doctor? If not i recommend you make an appointment for a proper exam, diagnosis, and treatment, especially if you are concerned about std's. Good luck. ...Read more

How long can a urinary tract infection be left untreated before it will become dangerous? This is for a friend who won't see the doctor, and I worry.

How long can a urinary tract infection be left untreated before it will become dangerous? This is for a friend who won't see the doctor, and I worry.

Depends: Infection in the urinary bladder alone may not become dangerous even if left untreated. There is always a risk that infection could spread to the kidneys. If kidneys are infected, then it can become dangerous in a matter of hours or days, if there is obstruction to urine flow and the patient is diabetic. It is best to get treatment at the earliest. ...Read more

If you were born with a yeast infection, can you get something for it to go away?If so, what is it called and where do u get it from?

Odd question: The yeast that is involved with "yeast" infections is everywhere in nature. We all are contaminated with it within hours of birth and it ends up as a benign inhabitant of our intestines. Moisture and sugar keep it growing ant these are available in the mouth of a baby that feeds often or on a diapered bottom. Anti-yeast meds can reduce symptomatic rash or buildup, but it will always be present. ...Read more
