How Can One Best Alleviate The Pain Of A Fractured Rib And How Long Should Pain Last
Ouch!: Rib fractures can be extremely painful. We used to prescribe chest binders - a wrap that goes around your chest - to help support the area, but no longer do so because it's been found that they don't help healing or pain much. You can get some pain relief by taking anti-inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen). Be sure to not take more than recommended. Ice applied to the area might help too. ...Read more

Fractured ribs on both sides in two accidents the last one was in feb. I can't lay my sides or my stomach cause of pain. Should I see doct or chiro?
Ribs: I would get rib xrays first (not from the chiropractor). If the ribs look well healed and the lungs look good then a trip to a chiropractor or an osteopath who does manipulation might be helpful to get your ribs moving normally again. Because rib pain can be quite complex, you might end up needing a team approach with a doctor and a chiropractor and possibly physical therapy. ...Read more

A rib fracture in an infant is deeply concerning for inflicted trauma. I would discuss this with a trusted physician / child health care team. Often we do not truly know even those closest to us. Two ribs fractured my fibula and dislocated my ankle, how long will it be before I'm good enough to play sports?
It sounds as though you had quite the accident. Fractured ribs are painful enough, the fracture/dislocation of an ankle can have long rehabilitation schedules. In addition, of course, it also depends on what sports you want to play. You most likely had surgery on the ankle. I would ask the surgeon for his opinion, he would know better than anyone else.
Good luck. ...Read more
