How Can I Use The Female Condom
These are mostly closed end tubes of latex and occasionally other materials to cover the penis during intercourse and prevent pregnancy and disease transmission. A wise person uses them when the history of their partner is unknown. There are some available for women's use ...Read more
Anyone: It is a loose-fitting condom that is placed into vagina prior to intercourse/sex to prevent pregnancy and std's. There are two rings on either end so that the condom will stay in place. They can be tricky to use, so not my favorite contraception to recommend to a patient. Use only one kind of condom, don't use both male and female condoms at the same time--this can cause friction/tearing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I am female and have HSV2 in my perianal area. How can I protect my partner? Can I use a bandage? I worry condoms are useless with where it is.
Preventing herpes: Correct, bandages won't help. Most HSV2 transmission occurs when no visible outbreak. The ways to prevent genital HSV2 transmission are 1) no sex during outbreaks until healed, 2) consistent condom use, 3) suppressive treatment with anti-HSV drug, usually valacyclovir (Valtrex) once daily. Condoms should work for herpes of the perineum, and virus probably is present elsewhere in your genitals. ...Read more

Female 41 yrs old tested + ureaplasma. Always uses condoms! Do I need to abstain from all sex during antibiotic treatment, or just vaginal?
Sorry you got tested: Ureaplasma is normal in the genital tract, present in ~50% of all sexually acttive people. It is shared with partners (i.e. sexually transmitted) but only some strains are known to cause any symptoms, usually mild and only in males. Testing for Ureaplasma is done rarely by knowledgeable experts, e.g. in STD clinics. There's no need for treatment if neither you nor partner(s) have symptoms. ...Read more
Two weeks ago friend and I hook up. We didn't use a condom and I'm not on the pill. So the my lady part is dry and itchy and period is late.
Some thoughts...: Pregnancy is the most common cause of a missed period. If not pregnant, other causes of a late or missed period include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (especially hormone or birth control pills), hormonal disorders, etc… A visit to one’s Ob-Gyn doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent or worrisome. ...Read more
Burning while peeing after sex. Only happens when My partner uses a condom. (Female) unprotected sex no burning while peeing after. Concerns?
Irritation...: You may have a sensitivity to the condom or something on the condom. Also, the condom may not stay as lubricated as necessary and this may cause irritation and burning. You could try lubricating the condom or switching condom brands. It's a good idea to urinate after intercourse to avoid a bladder infection. Best wishes! ...Read more

If a male perform oral sex to a female then just place his penis on her vagina. Then use condom can she get hiv?
Do I have to use female condom and my partner his condom all the time since I have HPV?? Doesn't condoms cause rash/itchiness/skin irritation? Help
It's your choice: Almost everybody has a few strains of HPV. Even the dangerous strains produce only lesions that are manageable if detected early -- with a woman's pap smear and a man simply keeping an eye on himself, the danger to life is minimal. Many couples like condoms, but if you're monogamous and dislike them, it's really your decision. ...Read more
What types of birth control can i use if I have a blood clot? Other than condoms, female condoms, caps, things like that. Any oral pills avaliable?
No oral hormonal: options are safe, and Mirena (levonorgestrel) (IUD) can only be used if your DVT/clot has cleared (after being confirmed with an ultrasound/Doppler) and you have no other underlying tendency in your blood to clot (i.e. Factor V leiden, Lupus anticoagulant, Protein C/S deficiency etc.). In the meantime, only condoms and/or tubal ligation or male vasectomy are feasible. ...Read more
I'm a male. I had sex with a stranger (female). I use 3 condoms at one time, the sex lasted about 10 minutes. I'm paranoid! this occured monday night and it is now thursday. None of the condoms broke. What are my chances of still catching an STD from
Nearly zero: STD risk usually is low for any particular sexual exposure even with no condom. With one, virtually no risk for STDs transmitted by fluids (gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV) and low risk for those passed skin to skin (syphilis, herpes, HPV). Rather than testing after a single exposure like this, consider routine periodic testing (e.g. yearly). Best to use only 1 condom. 2+ increases risk of breakage. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Sexually active, I use a condom every time.. Chances of me contracting hiv? Also, had sex with a genital herpes female. Says only 1 outbreak Am I safe
Safe enough, but...: Have sex with only one person. Also, one can get HIV through sex only if the other person has it, so just check with the other person. If worried about herpes, which can infect an uninfected person on the areas not covered by a condom, the infected partner can talk with a doctor about preventive drugs. But, if both partners are already infected with both Herpes types, it's late for prevention. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
