Primary care...: The first stop would be to a primary care doctor; if there is a change in the type/frequency of the headache then he/she may want to have a neurologist take a look at her. Stress can be a big factor in headaches just fyi. Good luck! ...Read more

At night times my 12 weeks old infant will not wake up to breast feed, 5 hours gap ll b there for last breastfeed. Any problem to baby's nutition?

At night times my 12 weeks old infant will not wake up to breast feed, 5 hours gap ll b there for last breastfeed. Any problem to baby's nutition?

Not if baby is fine: We (doctors, moms, dads, neighbors, etc.) all want babies to sleep through the night by the time they are 3 months old. Parents with babies who sleep through the night are lucky parents. As long as a baby is growing fine on his measurements at the check-ups, and is healthy, parents don't need to wake up a sleeping baby at night. ...Read more

Is there a difference in the brands of formula for babies (similac, parents choice) my baby has acid reflux and throws up on PC formula not any other?

My infant is showing signs of dehydration. When do I call the doctor? My baby has been ill and is having fewer wet diapers than normal. I’ve tried to give her pedialyte, but she isn’t taking much of it. At what point do I need to call her pediatrician?

Call Dr. now: Signs of dehydration include fewer wet diapers, tears and saliva that is thicker than usual. Infants may become dehydrated in just a few hours. It sounds like you've done the basics-it's time to discuss the details with your doctor. It will be much easier to treat the problem early. Good luck. ...Read more

Sounds as if: your baby is also becoming ill. Infants under the age of two months with a rectal temperature of 100.4 or higher should be emergently evaluated and not given Tylenol. Older infants and children can be offered supportive and comfort care with pain/fever reducers until they have been evaluated by their pediatrician. ...Read more
