Yes: Tonsils are very easily visualized by a qualified ENT physician. The question comes down to whether you are symptomatic - pain, trouble swallowing, hoarseness. If any if these are the case, it is unlikely that this is a simple cyst and you should seek additional information. Abscess now cyst: Greetings. I sympathize with you regarding your peritonsillar abscess. Some of my patients suffering the most are those with a PTA. The fact that you still have pain and swelling means that you may need further care and possibly even a tonsillectomy.
