When it comes to tattoo removal, are some tattoo colors easier to remove than others? I have a pink tattoo on my hand that i want removed and i was hoping this was one of the easier colors for tattoo removal to get rid of. Is this the case?
Yes: Darker tattoos like black come off easier, red is a close secone. Pink if a mix of red and white is difficult because white does not come out usin lasers. I remove a lot of tattoos and if the red is watered down to pink there is no problem. Make sure your Dr is using a Q yag for you pink because they can frequency doube that and make it target red. Needs experienced MD: Laser tattoo removal in darker skin requires a lowering of the laser energy ( at times 1/2 or more) and increasing the time between treatments. I prefer a min of 12 weeks and in some cases 20. Black ink is safest but red requires a laser that will likely remove pigment leaving behind lightened skin even white skin where the red ink was.
