Infected finger: You must see your Primary doctor as soon as possible - may need to go early to the nearest Emergency facility.
Unlikely that a needle was there but you must go and find out.

Depends on size: Frequently there is no external obvious sign of the needle unless it was a large needle. Amazingly I have seen lots of broken needles in patients that are not always painful especially diabetics.
