Try to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables ; 4 of fruit per day. Increase nutritional fiber. Avoid refined sugar ; junk carbohydrates. Avoid alcohol, sweetened juices, soda ; caffeinated beverages. Round person: The ketogenic diet is high in fat and low in carbohydrate. There is much debate as to how healthy this diet truly is. I have seen patients have temporary success with this diet only to gain weight back when they resume a normal diet.
