I am not sure what you mean by its role but it is the source of the upper teeth and it covers the largest sinus of the face, the maxillary sinus. What is a defect in the medial maxillary wall of the sinuses? It's in the paranasal area but I'm not sure exactly where that is.

My nose is always stuffed and sometimes it's hard to breath from it. Could the enlarging of the nose be the effect of the nasal polyp?
