When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Would there be a (big) difference in the measurement if a 12wk old fetus compared to a 9wk old fetus? The gestational age would be determined in u/s?
Yes: An first trimester sonogram is fairly accurate at dating a pregnancy (within a margin of error of about a week). At 12 weeks menstrual age with a viable pregnancy a sonogram measurement of 9 weeks would change the dating of the pregnancy and your due date should be based on that sonogram. Later sonograms should not change this established date. ...Read more
Can 12 week dating scan be off by 2 weeks? Could a 10 week gestational age fetus measure as big as 5.6cm?
Yes: Ultrasound scanning is related to the skill of the sonographer. Typically a 10 week scan has three days of error built in when the test is performed vaginally. There is more error with an abdominal ultrasound. Average crown rump length at ten weeks is approximately 3-4cm. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Im 29 weeks pregnant, fetus too small?(2 lbs.) should I be worried? My 1st baby only weigh 5lb.10oz at 36 weeks?
Depends: There are two types of small babies. Some babies are constitutionally small because their parents are smaller people. If you had a previous small baby then maybe that is your situation again. Other times babies are small because there's a problem with the placenta. Sometimes this can be due to conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes your doctor knows best how concerning the smallness. ...Read more
What does it mean if I am 29 weeks pregnant an my sons fetus is on the larger side but his amniotic fluid is to low?
Did you discuss with: Your OB as your OB should have already discussed the possible causes, and plan of action for the rest of your pregnancy and your OB should be consulting with a peri-natologist, it depends how low the fluid is cause usually low fluid is ass with a smaller than normal baby, could be a problem with baby's kidneys or not and if the fluid gets too low you may need early delivery so call your OB tom am! ...Read more
I am 29 weeks & 4 days, today done scan & findings - single viable gestation in cephalic presentation - gestational age 28-29 weeks. Help 2 understand?
Yes: If the mom has her primary experience with this virus at any point in pregnancy, the fetus can become infected. If it happens, the most disabling effect seems to be it's effect on the babies blood forming activity. If it slows it down or stops even briefly, the fetus may not be able to keep up with the metabolic demands of growth & a condition called hydrops can result. ...Read more
