Do a lot of people get brown recluse spider bites?

Do a lot of people get brown recluse spider bites?

Not many: Brown recluse spiders are mostly in the midwest, usually in basements and hidden areas. They are not aggressive but will bite if disturbed. Most spider bites are by other species. Look for the fiddle pattern on the spider. Bites are rare but need serious attention as they lead to a persistent necrosis which can last for months.

Medical Attention: These bites can be very serious causing your skin to become necrotic and slough off. Serious skin injuries could require amputation. You need to know that they inhabit dark places like the crawl space or inside your shoes. Take caution when going in dark places as they are not llkely to bite you unless they touch your skin. Use good lighting in dark places.

Is it possible to get bitten by a black widow or brown recluse spider and not know it? I've seen a few in my house before, can they kill me?

Is it possible to get bitten by a black widow or brown recluse spider and not know it? I've seen a few in my house before, can they kill me?

Not likely: It is hilly doubtful you saw both of these spiders, but not impossible. They can inflict quite a bite, usually not deadly, but with serious consequences that require medical intervention. If you think you have them in the house, have a professional exterminator deal with the problem. Good luck from nyc.

My autistic uncle got bit by a brown recluse spider we took him to the urgent care but he flipped out at the new enviornment and would not get help?

Needs emergent help: If in fact it is a brown recluse, you must take him to the emergency room regardless of his behavior. It would be important to bring the spider in with you on some sort of container alive or dead. I can say that these types of spiders are oftent misidentified, however when they do bite, time is VERY important in terms if treatment. Hope this helps!

Will a brown recluse spider hurt when they bite you?

My story: I was bit by a brown recluse over twenty years ago. It did not hurt when bit. But I went on to have fever, swelling of my arm, necrosis of tissue around the bite and I had musculo-skeletal pain all over. I basically felt like roadkill. My understanding is that some people don't have much of reaction to it.

How can I tell if the spider I was bitten by is a brown recluse?

The spider: The brown recluse spider bite will have a black center with red surrounding it. The black part is where the tissues are dying. Other spider bites may look this way as well. Actually seeing the spider is the best way to identify the bite.

If bitten by a brown recluse spider and left untreated what usually happens to it?

Necrosis: The problem with this type of spider is the venom causes necrosis (death) of tissue. However, there really isn't a medicine that has been shown to stop this damage. Right now the best care is meticulous wound care.

What does a brown recluse spider look like dead?

Brown Recluse: In the mature brown recluse spider as well as some other species of recluse spiders, the dark violin marking is well defined, with the neck of the violin pointing toward the bulbous abdomen. The abdomen is uniformly colored, although the coloration can range from light tan to dark brown, and is covered with numerous fine hairs that provide a velvety appearance.
