What is the best sunscreen to use in the summer that is not harmful to your skin? and how big can a lymph node get
Unlikely: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well. ...Read more

Subjective criteria: In the imaging(computed tomography) world a node greater than 1.0 cm was considered suspicious for disease.Therer are 2.5 cm per inch. This enlargement could represent infection/inflammation, reactive to disease process in proximity, and tumor. Generally infectious/inflammatory nodes may be tender and tumoral nodes are firmer. This subject has a lot of variability. ...Read more

Cannot tell: A large supraclavicular node may be due to many different things, and whether it needs to be biopsied depends on whether "hard" means stony hard, whether it is fixed to underlying tissues, tender, continuing to enlarge, how long it has been there and many other things will influence decision-making. See your doctor and get this taken care of. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Surgical? Not So Much: The recovery from a lymph node biopsy is dependent upon the location of the lymph node and the biopsy method. A needle biopsy under local anesthesia...You can work the same day. A sentinel ln biopsy for breast cancer...Most of my patients are pretty sore the next day...Waiting 2-3 days to return to work would be advisable. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hard firm lymph node less than an inch on neck for about a year. Should I get it checked? No symptoms.
I have an enlarged cervical lymph node that measures 1.75x2.0 in. it is also hard and somewhat painful should I get it checked out or wait. ?
Lymph Node Swelling: Greetings. An enlarged lymph node should be evaluated and treated. In my practice, I would treat you with an antibiotic. After 14 days, the node should have shrunk in size. If it was still enlarging, then an image guided biopsy would be ordered. The sooner you are evaluated, the sooner you are treated. Good Luck. ...Read more
It's complex: Lymph node biopsies often require additional types of testing compared to other biopsies. In addition to looking at the cells under the microscope, the cells often need to be analyzed using specialized techniques. Sometimes molecular testing is also performed. All of these pieces are integrated together making the process a little longer than other biopsies. ...Read more

I've had a 23.8 mm lymph node with dominant fatty hilla and a thin mantle it's been this way in my right groin area for 6 months should I get a biopsy?
Lymph node: The description of this fatty lymph node sounds benign. I would suggest getting a follow up ultrasound in a few months. If it changes I would then suggest an FNA (fine needle aspirate). If you are extremely anxious ask you doctor if you could have an FNA sooner. If it was me I'd opt for a repeat ultrasound in 3 months. ...Read more
