How Bad Is It To Have An A1 C Of 17
My daughter alc was 6.7 she is a type one diabetic is that good r bad to have an A1c level of 6.7?
It depends: A hba1c tells the average blood sugar over a few month period of time. Generally, a 6.7% is excellent in a patient with type 1 diabetes as long as it is the result of consistent blood sugar control. Someone whose glucoses fluctuate from very low to very high on a regular basis may also attain a lower hba1c value. The key to interpret the hba1c is in evaluating day to day control. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
200 grams of sugar in one day four times a month. Is this bad? My A1C was 5.6 two years ago as well as glucose 83. Should I be worried?
Both: The a1c is what i call the three month average of blood sugar. The dream is to keep an a1c below 7 -what i call an a+ in blood sugar management. Is 7.3 bad? Well, it is not that perfect a+ we mentioned but in some people, particularly older adults, a perfect score can cause more harm than good. In a 37 year old 7.3 is pretty good and it won't take much change to get you below the 7 next time. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Not bad,,,: This level is within a normal range which is generally around 4.0 - 5.9. The weight loss is a great step and it should be continued. You're relatively young, so it's good to get serious about this now, especially if you're overweight, as this is a risk factor for diabetes. Best of luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
