Many Possibilities: Depending on how long it's been going on, I would consider an evaluation by a spine specialist. Sometimes it could be a muscle imbalance, early onset arthritis or scoliosis. Also could be a pinched nerve/herniated disc. Either way it might be good to figure it out and get appropriate treatment. ...Read more

Back is really painful since car accident - over a year ago. Constant ache&in a lot of pain having to use a hot water bottle. What could it be?
You need a diagnosis: If you continue to have a "lot of pain" a year after the accident, you need to see your dr about this and have an MRI of your back to see why it is hurting. From there, you may need to see a physical therapist or a neurosurgeon, depending on what the MRI shows. It is my opinion that you should not see a chiropractor about this, unless you know with certainty what the underlying problem is. ...Read more
All day I've a terrible neck cramp on the right side of my neck. It's going down this side of my back. Tried massage & hot water bottle. What to do?
Rolling pin!: Sometimes people may experience what is called a myofascial trigger point. These trigger points can be associated with pain and associated tightness of the muscle which can then result in stiffness and difficulty with movement. Try this: apply a cold pack for 15 minutes then apply a hot pack for 10 to 15 minutes. Finally, take a baking rolling pain and roll it over the most tender spots for 5". ...Read more
Can a gout attack last more than 6 weeks. Also is it normal that I need to soak my feet in very very hot water and use hot water bottle 2 relieve pain?
Maybe!: First, if you are under treatment and having pain so long, you need another opinion. The medications available should have ended your pain long ago. You must not be on a uric acid lowering drug alone, since it's sole use can prolongue or cause an attack. With the right comination of colchicine, an anti-inflammatory drug, and oral or injectable steroids, you should be better. Hot water helps. ...Read more
Iv pain in my right Testical, all down my leg also. I have a hot water bottle in my groin it helps a little. What else could I do & what's wrong?
Dr to examine testis: Testicle pain means a trip to the doctor right away because the testicle's blood supply can be twisted off (called torsion). When that happens, the testicle can die. Other causes of testicle pain include trauma, infection, twisting off an appendix of a testicle (a small lump next to a testicle), etc... Since one usually cannot tell if his testicle is twisted, an exam by the doctor is needed. ...Read more

Have throbbing below right rib, comes and goes, had scan on kidneys all okay so kidney stones ruled out. Hot water bottle seems to help?
No short answer:
I would guess you have strained the right upper abdominal muscles. The scan should have noticed if you had gall stones. It is easy to strain the upper abdominal muscles turning over in bed wrong, losing our balance & trying to keep from falling or being hit in the side by a door when the wind catches it.
