Yes there are: You can watch for triggers and eliminate them if possible. These include stress, spicy foods, caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, nicotine, sleep deprivation. Exercise initially makes hot flashes worse but, as a person gets into shape, hot flashes can get milder.
